Salt Spring Island is the largest of the Gulf Islands located between the B.C. mainland and Vancouver Island in Canada.
Accessible by Ferry (there are three terminals - Fulford, Long Harbour and Vesuvius), Sea Plane (they land right in the heart of Ganges Harbour) or private vessel, if you haven't heard of Salt Spring Island, the opportunity to explore and discover this slice of wonder awaits you.
27 kilometres long and 14 kilometres wide, Salt Spring Island is a haven for artists and artisans who populate not only the famous Saturday Marketplace but who also display their talents and wares in the studios that dot the island and are open to the public for touring, viewing and of course shopping.
The Island is also a wonderful destination for lovers of fruits, vegetables, jams and jellies, artisan cheeses, chicken, pork, beef and world-famous lamb. And highlighting these fabulous meats, vegetables, fruits and cheeses are a collection of farm stands throughout the island as well as some simply amazing restaurants and bistros with the odd food cart added for good measure.
For the adventurous, there are tours and excursions by land and by sea and for the less adventurous there are spas, vineyards, golf & shopping.
If you are planning to visit Salt Spring, you can do so for a day, but if you want to really indulge yourself, come for a weekend and reward yourself with a visit in one of the lovely hotels, bed &breakfasts or guest cottages.
And speaking of Guest Cottages… there is Sunnyhill Farm.
